The 28 year old Hip-Hop artist from Compton, CA recently dropped a album this year called "To Pimp A Butterfly" on March 15. The album really changed the game in a huge way it actually had over a half-million sales and was awarded top rap album this year and top digtial album. The album represents what is going on in America right now, the picture below is the album cover for "To Pimp A Butterfly". In the picture it shows Kendrick Lamar with some of his good and close friends that he grew up with standing in front of the white house and sitting on a judge with money in their hands, and bottles of champagne. The Album cover is just a visual definition of how the goverment works, the judge looks at African Americans and feel that they are criminals. The money on the cover is just saying that the world is ran by the dollar and sometimes the dollar corrupts people and they lose control. I know you are still wondering why did he name it "To Pimp A Butterfly? African Americans are pimped meaning changed in the world because they let society change them and mold them into someone they're not. The album actually is related to the novel "To Kill A MockingBird a book that is about a innocent black male who is being accused of a crime he never did. Kendrick Lamar album was a beautiful pieace of art he put together and it will go down in the history of Hip-Hop.
